His career in zoological medicine spans 30 years and includes positions at the Baltimore, Knoxville and Oklahoma City zoos as well as teaching positions at the veterinary schools of the Univerity of Tennessee and Texas A&M. His publications are numerous and extremely valuable to the profession.

Dr. Henderson's specialty is ultrasonography. His practice is named SonoVet. It is a mobile ultrasound consultation service serving veterinarians in San Antonio, Austin and the Hill Country of Texas.
